This 6-part series of videos from ICNY’s Social Work and Religious Diversity program offers introductions to a range of faith traditions that speak to the interests of social workers and others. The series will explore Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Afro-Caribbean religions like Vodou and Santeria. This installment focuses on Buddhism.
Each installment includes an academic introduction to the faith tradition, as well as a panel discussion with community leaders and faith-based social service providers. For social workers planning to attend the June 17th Social Work and Religious Diversity conference, these videos provide a foundation for culturally competent social work practice with religiously diverse New Yorkers. And for everyone they offer a remarkable opportunity to learn about American religious diversity!
