Creating understanding and respect among the different religious groups of New York City.

Mission

The Interfaith Center of New York seeks to make New York City and the world safe for religious difference by increasing respect and mutual understanding among people of different faith, ethnic, and cultural traditions and by fostering cooperation among religious communities and civic organizations to solve common social problems.  Read more about our methodology and history.

Also of interest to religious leaders and New Yorkers interested in interfaith dialogue and social justice: our monthly bulletin about programs and events in the New York Area.  We welcome visitors to join our email list for announcements about our activities.

ICNY launches a series of coffee-hour grassroots conversations as part of the initiative Prepare NY, an initative of several interfaith organizations, working to prepare New York City (and the nation) for the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows and 9/11 Communities for Common Ground serve as advisers to the coalition.  Contact Annie Rawlings (annie@interfaithcenter.org) to host a conversation in your community. Visit Prepare NY to learn more about the initiative and explore ways to get involved.
