The Psychotherapy and Spirituality Institute has taken an interdisciplinary approach to mental health and spiritual wholeness for more than 40 years. Our six-week, 12-module, 18-hour course will explore the many ways spiritually informed approaches can improve treatment outcomes across a range of mental-health disciplines. The teachers are all licensed professionals with a substantive background in handling both spiritual and clinical concerns. The PSI faculty includes pastoral counselors, LCSWs, LMHCs, an LMFT, and an LP. They come from a range of faith backgrounds, including Buddhist, Christian, and Jewish.
New York State LMSWs, LCSWs, LMFTs, and LMHCs are all eligible for 18 continuing education credit hours. Pending state approval, CASAC’s will be eligible for continuing education credits as well.
Overall objectives of the program include better acquainting licensed mental health providers with spiritually informed approaches and also helping them determine how those can best be incorporated into their mental health practice.
Classes will meet each Wednesday from June 21-July 26, 2017 and run from 9:00am-12:00pm, with a break between the two weekly modules. Classes will be held at the PSI office downtown at 120 Broadway, 38th Floor, NY, NY 10271.
