ICNY and the Building Bridges Coalition of Staten Island are delighted to announce a free professional development program for teachers, meeting on Tuesday, March 15, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, at the Todt Hill – Westerleigh Public Library, 2550 Victory Boulevard.
In today’s climate of religious bigotry and extremism, teachers in public, private, and parochial schools can help to foster interfaith understanding. Please join us to develop the tools you need to create a more inclusive classroom – and a more inclusive society. A panel of faith leaders and educators will help teachers understand the rich diversity of Staten Island, and the appropriate role of religion in K-12 schools and curricula.
The seminar is free for all Staten Island teachers, thanks to the generous support of the Richmond County Savings Foundation, but space is limited. To register, please email education@interfaithcenter.org.
