From March through September 2025 (and perhaps beyond), the Interfaith Center of New York and our partners invite New Yorkers of all faiths and none to join us each week at Columbus Circle for Multifaith Mondays: Moral Witness for Democracy.
The Multifaith Monday vigils serve as a sacred space for collective lament, prophetic resistance, and multifaith community-building in a time of deep division and threat to democratic values. If we can do nothing else in the end, we will stand and bear witness to the highest ideals to which we have been called, and commit to pursue them even when the way is dark and unclear. As M. Gessen teaches, “Autocratic power requires the degradation of moral authority.” By participating in Multifaith Mondays, we strengthen the moral authority of democratic voices and values. We also come together, as diverse New Yorkers, as an antidote to isolation and fear. Please join us next Monday, and invite your congregation or community!

Every Monday from 5:30 – 6:00 pm
Columbus Circle, 59th Street and Central Park West. Click here for directions.
Gather at the USS Maine statue on the southwest corner of Central Park.
