7 Hours of Continuing Ed. for New York LMSWs and LCSWs
Please join us on April 7th to explore the religious and spiritual coping resources that provide strength and support for diverse New Yorkers facing personal hardships or communal crises.
A featured speaker at this conference will be Rabbi Dr. Tsvi Blanchard, the Meyer Struckmann Professor of Jewish Law at the Humboldt University Faculty of Law in Berlin, and a scholar in residence at the Institute on Law, Religion, and Lawyer’s Work at Fordham University. In addition to his academic work, he is a long time social advocate and psychologist, and a leader in the Jewish healing movement. He holds Ph.D.s in psychology and philosophy, and has worked as a professor of philosophy, a K-12 educator, a clinical and organizational psychologist, and the Director of Organizational Development at Clal – The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership. He is the co-author of Embracing Life & Facing Death: A Jewish Guide to Palliative Care, among other publications, and is a frequent public speaker and trainer.
The conference is cosponsored by the Interfaith Center of New York, the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services, and the Psychotherapy and Spirituality Institute. It will help all social service and mental health care providers build their multifaith cultural competence, while offering New York LMSWs and LCSWs seven continuing education credit hours approved to meet state licensing requirements.
