Back during the open struggle against NYPD surveillance it was revealed that a “particular concern” existed focusing on the mosques led by African American leaders – Imam Talib Abdur Rashid, Imam Siraj, Imam Al-Amin, and Shaykh Ibrahim (see below). In response, Imam Talib filed a Freedom of Information application to force the NYPD to reveal their motives and information. He did so at the same time as the leader of the Muslim Student’s Association at Rutgers University MSA. This case is seen as having special importance for civil rights & freedom of speech. Please come and support Imam Talib’s next court hearing Tuesday, March 8 at the Appellate Division, First Dept., 27 Madison Ave ( at 25th St.) 2pm sharp. Click here for more information.
