On Monday, June 12, as The Interfaith Center of New York celebrates its twentieth anniversary with a gala at the Tribeca Rooftop, we will be honoring two individuals and a community for their extraordinary work in the area of facilitating communication, understanding and respect between diverse peoples and communities. This honor is known as the “James Parks Morton” or JPM award, named after the Interfaith Center’s founder and chair emeritus.
This year, the gala will feature seven-time Grammy winning composer Paul Winter. Paul has a body of work that chronicles his wide-ranging experiences in the musical traditions and natural environments of the Earth. The saxophonist, composer and bandleader founded Living Music as the recording context for his ensemble, the Paul Winter Consort, and his community of colleagues, which includes some of the world’s finest jazz, world, and classical musicians, along with notable voices from the great symphony of wildlife.
Tickets are available for purchase, and proceeds will help “#FundTheNext20” as The Interfaith Center of New York enters its third decade of service to our great city.
