Filed Under: Program Archive Tagged With: Immigrants, immigration, Mayor's Office, New York City, NYC, One Nation

Overview:
Know Your Rights and Responsibilities Forums are a vital component of One NYC One Nation, a joint partnership between the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, The New York Community Trust, and One Nation. One NYC One Nation provides tools to better access city government, train emerging leaders, promote financial empowerment, and support college readiness through targeted immigrant civic engagement zones. The forums are aimed at informing immigrant New Yorkers about city services and opportunities to become more involved in their communities.

Community Benefits:
The Know Your Rights and Responsibilities forums are a partnership between the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs and local community-based organizations, serving an immigrant population. They educate and build capacity of community members. The forums also provide an interactive, participatory format for neighborhood residents to interface with government representatives. MOIA can also supply language interpretation services free of charge.

Previous Partner City Agencies:
Department of Education Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence Department of Small Business Services Office of Emergency Management Department of Housing Preservation and Development Department of Consumer Affairs City University of New York NYPD, FDNY Community Outreach Units Workforce1 Centers
