We are pleased to invite you to a webinar next Monday, April 11th at 6pm ET featuring a report-back from the first American women’s delegation to visit Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover on August 15th. This delegation included ICNY Executive Director Rev. Dr. Chloe Breyer and ICNY Board member Ruth Messinger.

The American Women’s Peace and Education Delegation included members from Unfreeze Afghanistan, CODEPINK: Women For Peace, September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, Hindus for Human Rights-USA, The Interfaith Center of New York, and Women’s Islamic Initiative in Spirituality and Equality.
The diverse, interfaith group of women traveled to Afghanistan planning to celebrate the spring reopening of girls’ schools, but after a reversal by the Afghan government, the delegates met with affected girls, parents, and teachers who shared their thoughts.
In addition to Afghan students, the Peace Delegation also visited local NGOs, a clinic, an orphanage, a shelter and schools; met with various local leaders, advocating for expanding education for all girls and for additional humanitarian aid dollars to be made available in a country with severe unmet needs; and met with government officials and Central Bank representatives to advance their causes.
For questions or additional information, please reach out to office@UnfreezeAfghanistan.org
We look forward to seeing you next Monday as the Peace Delegates share their findings and on-the-ground experiences.
