The Interfaith Center of New York was proud to be one of eleven congregations and organizations honored at the Empty Bowl Dinner, a culminating event of the Spring of Solidarity Campaign organized by United Sikhs and Faiths Act Fellows from the Tony Blair Faith Foundation. The campaign celebrated the power of multi-faith partnerships, focusing in particular on the malaria crisis in Africa and interfaith anti-Malaria work in Sierra Leone; and on hunger and the crisis in East Africa and the Sri Guru Nanak Food Bank in Kenya, organized by the Kenyan Sikh community. The Empty Bowl Dinner raised money for the Food Bank. Other groups honored at the event include: The Riverside Church, the New York Society for Ethical Culture, the Jamaica Muslim Center, The Hindu Temple Society of North America, Judson Memorial Church, Bridges: Muslim-Jewish Dialogue at New York University, The Islamic Center at New York University, the Fourth Universalist Society in the City of New York, the Sikh Cultural Society of South Richmond Hill, and the Germantown Jewish Centre.
