District 39 Interfaith Immigration Summit

Proceed to Registration

We’re excited to partner with City Council Member Shahana Hanif to bring together District 39 and neighboring faith communities to organize in solidarity against mass deportation. The Interfaith Immigration Summit will take place on Sunday, March 22, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (check-in begins at 1:30 PM) and will feature community-building sessions and practical trainings. All are welcome, and we hope you’ll join us in building collective care and solidarity.

We’re calling on New Yorkers from Kensington, Borough Park, Windsor Terrace, Park Slope, Gowanus, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, the Columbia Waterfront, and other nearby neighborhoods to join us for an afternoon focused on how Faith Communities can band together to organize solidarity against Mass Deportation. All through the country and in New York, roving ICE raids, ICE activity inside of immigration court, shifting requirements for protected status, and other policy changes are disrupting communities. Faith Communities serve an important role in their communities and in the lives of their congregants and social service attendees to offer safety, information, and dignity in the face of cruelty. This gathering on March 22nd aims to resource faith communities throughout District 39 to have the tools to support their congregants and neighbors.

Please join us on Sunday, March 22nd to meet members from other faith communities in District 39.  The half-day conference program will include:

  • Remarks from the Council Member as well as from ICNY’s Executive Director Rev. Dr. Chloe Breyer
  • Breakout Sessions or relationship-building and practical planning including: a House of Worship Know Your Rights Training, A Know Your Rights in Bangla, a Rapid Response Training, and a session from Hand-in-Hand Domestic Employers Training
  • Prayer & Song offered by local Faith Leaders
  • Tangible take-home resources and next steps to help your congregation plug in to the immigration work already happening in and around District 39

All are welcome to join this essential conversation!  Click the button below to learn more and register, or go to https://interfaithcenter.org/d39-interfaith-immigration-summit/
