We join Governor Hochul, Comptroller Levine, and other elected officials and religious leaders who oppose the discriminatory calls for the Mayor of NYC to sit out Friday’s events commemorating 9/11. We cannot let ignorance and prejudice prevail after 25 years of fighting against it. This anniversary, let us remember those we lost and those whose solidarity with their diverse neighbors continue to make New York a stronger city.
Division should not prevail over the spirit of unity that brought us together after September 11th.
