Schedule for information sessions and legal clinics related to the application process for “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” (DACA)

October 31, 2012 ICNY

The following are information sessions and legal clinics related to the application process for “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” (DACA).

Due to the Hurricane it is possible that some of the early November events might be canceled or postponed – please check ahead of time.

Background:   On June 15, 2012, the Secretary of Homeland Security announced that certain people who came to the United States as children and meet several key guidelines may request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal, and would then be eligible for work authorization. Deferred action is a discretionary determination to defer removal action of an individual as an act of prosecutorial discretion. Deferred action does not provide an individual with lawful status.

(NOTE: After the hurricane, ICNY was unable to confirm that some of the early November events are still scheduled to take place.  Please call ahead to verify.)
