 JOB DESCRIPTION: OFFICE MANAGER

 The Interfaith Center of New York is a secular non-profit educational organization. Our goal is to create understanding and respect among the different religious groups of New York City as well as to encourage members of all faiths to get involved in civic participation. Position: Office Manager & Receptionist

 Skills and Experience: The Office Manager & Receptionist should have the ability to manage multiple assignments under deadlines and take independent action when appropriate. He or she should have strong organizational and editing skills, competency in Windows, sending mailings, dealing with vendors, and, ideally, experience with Filemaker Pro and iContacts. The Office Manager reports to the Director of Programs and Public Outreach.

Hours: 24 hours/week (Part-Time)

Job Description

 

  • Office  management and development
  • Reception duties (answering telephone, sending faxes, routing mail, handling postage and shipping, programming phone system, etc. )
  • Copying, filing, recording, and mailing acknowledgement letters to potential donors
  • Managing conference calls, reserving meeting rooms, and taking minutes at weekly staff meetings.
  • Help with “onboarding” of new employees and interns (ID cards, emergency contact information, etc.)
  • Managing vendors, taking office supplies inventories, and ordering supplies
  • Copying, filing, depositing, and recording checks and Credit card payment from donors and assisting in credit cards reconciliation process
  • Assisting with 3,000 piece mailings twice a year for an Annual Appeal and Annual Gala.
