On the evening of June 10, 2013, The Interfaith Center of New York honored an exceptional group of leaders who, through their “Courage of Conviction,” have chosen to challenge the pillars of revered civil and religious institutions to make a more fair and just society. Our honorees have been arrested, publically scrutinized and ridiculed, and personally threatened. Unabashed by criticism and forceful with their messages, they have persuasively rallied constituencies and ignited movements leading to progressive and evolving changes in laws, traditions and customs.
Below are a collection of video highlights from the gala, starting with the interfaith blessings offered at the beginning of the evening, followed by the acceptance speeches of each of our distinguished honorees.
