Mrs. Gaetana Enders’ humanitarian efforts will be highlighted by Joumana Rizk, Founder & Directress, PEACELIGHTS and ICNY board member. As the wife of the Deputy Chief of U.S. Mission in Cambodia from 1970 to 1974, Gaetana founded a volunteer organization to house 27,000 refugees escaping their war-torn nations in Southeast Asia. Upon her return to the U.S., she continued to assist in resettling refugees from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia and was named to a special committee by President Ford. Mrs. Enders died peacefully May 21, 2014.
