Faith Leaders to Kick-Off Campaign for $20 Living Wage in NYC
“Overlooked and Undercounted: Journey to a Real Living Wage”
Event to Raise Economic Self-Sufficiency as the Standard for NYC
What:
A coalition of multi-faith leaders from throughout New York City (sponsored by the Micah Faith Table NYC and in partnership with First Corinthian Baptist Church, The Interfaith Center of New York, Auburn Seminary, Union Theological Seminary, the Labor/Religion Coalition, the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, B’Nai Jeshurun, and the New York State Interfaith Network for Immigration Reform) will launch the Real Living Wage NYC Campaign. The goal of the Campaign is to ensure that all New York City workers receive at least $20/hour – the wage required to meet basic needs – and transform the city into a Real Living Wage City.
