Learn Practical Information & Get Resources to Keep Yourself, Your Staff, Your Congregants and Neighbors Informed, Calm & Safe

Tuesday, October 28, 2014 – 8:30am – 10:30am
Metropolitan College of New York
431 Canal Street, 11th Floor (Canal & Varick)

During a public health crisis, like Ebola, both faith communities and the public look to religious leaders with a deep sense of trust, that they will provide accurate practical information as well as emotional and spiritual care.

New Yorkers need to understand how safe their houses of worship and public venues are and to know the facts about Ebola signs and symptoms, transmission, diagnosis and treatment.

Religious leaders (lay or ordained) should attend this forum and learn how to take practical steps to calm fears and educate congregants about facts surrounding Ebola transmission. Medical and mental health experts, emergency managers, and trained disaster spiritual care providers will share information and answer questions.

PRESENTATIONS:

National Disaster Interfaiths Network
NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene
NYC Office of Emergency Management
New York Disaster Interfaith Services
