A panel discussion on “The Multifaith Roots of Nonviolent Direct Action”

We are excited to announce that our panel for the discussion is made up of scholars and religious leaders who have been active in nonviolent social justice struggles, exploring the ethical and spiritual roots of nonviolence in diverse faith traditions, as well as practical strategies for direct action emerging from diverse traditions.  Speakers are:

Sahar Alsahlani, an active member of the Muslim Peace Fellowship, the Fellowship of Reconciliation, Religions for Peace, the Al-Khoei Foundation, and other organizations.

Rajni Bakshi, an author and activist, former Gandhi Peace Fellow at Gateway House, and Advisory Board Member of Sadhana Coalition of Progressive Hindus.

Rabbi Michael Feinberg, the Executive Director of the Greater New York Labor-Religion Coalition, and Co-Chair of the Micah Institute’s Economic Justice Committee.

Rev. Dr. T. Kenjitsu Nakagaki, the Founder and President of the HEIWA Peace and Reconciliation Foundation of New York, and Former President of the Buddhist Council of New York.
