Help Extend a Hand of Trust, Safety and Guidance to Victims of Domestic Violence

Announcing the “Domestic Violence Training for Religious Leaders” Campaign

Campaign Summary

Victims of domestic violence often turn to religious leaders for help. Families in immigrant communities especially turn to their faith leaders, as they fear that an official report of domestic violence might jeopardize immigration status for the entire family.

Unfortunately, few faith leaders are equipped to counsel their congregations about domestic violence, and even contribute to the culture of silence about the issue by not addressing it in worship services.

For over 2 years, the Interfaith Center of New York and CONNECT NYC have been conducting professional trainings for religious leaders, to give them the skills they need to bring help to their communities, and provide victims with resources they can use to regain their safety, health and happiness.  We want to continue this important work, but can’t manage to sustain the program without help.

Click here to make a 100% tax deductible contribution to this campaign: http://igg.me/at/DVtrainings/x/1383481

All donations to this campaign are fully tax deductible, and all money raised (even should we exceed our target amount) will be used to conduct training classes for religious leaders, and counsel them as they launch DV support projects in thier respective communities.  Our goal of $5,000 would enable us to continue this valuable mission, and through the work of faith leaders around New York City, extend a hand of trust, safety and guidance to victims of domestic violence.

Tracking Our Progress
