Media Advisory

WHAT: As the Senate “Gang of 8” completes work on a Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill (CIR), diverse religious leaders, joined by Congressional leaders, immigrant victims of our broken immigration system and a key immigration reform advocate, will come together to say: it is Congress’s moral obligation to enact reform that is just and humane.

WHY: At this critical moment for the CIR movement, diverse faith community leaders both nationally and locally are calling on members of Congress to honor the inherent dignity of all human beings and their obligation to treat others as they themselves would wish to be treated by passing CIR that brings undocumented immigrants out of the shadows through a clear and direct path to citizenship; ends cruel and inhumane detentions and deportations; promotes and preserves family unity, and protects the rights of immigrant workers and due process rights for all immigrants.
