Join members of Astoria’s immigrant communities (both new and long-established), and others in the neighborhood, for a discussion of life in Astoria over the past ten years. Share your hopes and concerns about the future.
Immigrants have come, and continue to arrive, from all over the world to seek their dreams in Astoria and Long Island City (like elsewhere in Queens, New York City and beyond). People pass in the streets, their children mix in classes at school, but sometimes there is not really understanding across community lines. This conversation is an opportunity to connect.
A short walk from the “N” train. Funded by the New York Council for the Humanities.
