Reentry Family and Faith Circles of Support, a collaboration between the Interfaith Center of New York and the Harlem Community Justice Center (made possible by funding from the JC Flowers Foundation) present:
Volunteer Training for People of Faith
– Concrete ways faith volunteers can support people coming home from prison to Harlem through the Harlem Reentry Court – and their families
– Positive communication techniques.
– The commitment required by Family and Faith Circles of Support – and the rewards of volunteering.
Featured Presenter: Dr. Jonathan Fader on “Motivational Interviewing”
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, person-centered form of guiding to elicit and strengthen motivation for change.
Dr. Jonathan Fader is a licensed clinical psychologist. He is an assistant professor of Family Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and teaches in the Beth Israel Residency Program in Family Medicine in New York City. The Department of Family Medicine is housed within the larger organization of the Institute for Family Health.
