Meet Geshe Lobsang Ngodup – one of the diverse religious leaders and faith-based social service providers speaking at the June 17th Social Work and Religious Diversity conference.
Geshe Lobsang Ngodup, MSW, is the Director of the Sera Jey Buddhist Culture Center. He received his Geshe degree (a Ph.D in Buddhist Philosophy) from Sera Jey Monastic University, in Bylakuppe, south India, and received his MSW from Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work. Geshe Lobsang has taught Buddhist meditation since 1989, in the United States, Canada, India, and elsewhere, and has also worked with a number of social service agencies in New York City, including counseling refugees from Tibet and elsewhere.
